Did you make it out to the apple orchards this fall? With the frost earlier this week it looks like many of the orchards are forced to close up, with a few remaining open that have pre-picked apples in stock… so it’s not too late to get out there, but hurry!

In Chinese medicine, apples are cooling and detoxifying. They strengthen Qi and Yin, and eliminate toxins. It’s a perfectly timed treat, after the summer heat and BBQs.

We were busy in September making apple chips, apple juice, and apple sauce. We may eat the apple sauce, or we might add into our baking. Either way, there’s nothing better than cooking with real, fresh ingredients!
